Description

This 1933 Chevrolet Master is a Woodie Station Wagon that was purchased new as a 1/2-ton commercial chassis from Foley Chevrolet in Newark, New Jersey in 1933 by great-grandfather, and was gifted to his son in 1949. Power comes from a 194ci inline-six mated to a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission, and the body is finished in blue with black fenders and running boards, wood sides, and a canvas roof. A refurbishment conducted in 1990s is said to have been included bodywork and a repaint, replacing the wood paneling, an interior refresh, and replacement roof and side curtains. The car was acquired in 2005 by the great grandson, who commissioned a mechanical refurbishment in 2017, and subsequent recognition included a Best in Class award in 2018 from the Concours d'Elegance in Maryland. This Woodie is offered with a copy of Woodie Times featuring the car, manufacturer's literature, service records dating back to 1949 and assorted spare parts. The forward bodywork and fenders were refinished in a two-tone color scheme during the refurbishment, while the passenger area is clad in wood paneling replaced by Pease Boat Works and Marine Railway of Chatham, Massachusetts. Trim includes a scuttle vent, windshield visor, and a side mirror. The 194ci inline-six is equipped with a downdraft carburetor and sends power to the rear wheels through a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission. This is a rare opportunity to own a single family owned highly collectible Woodie.
